For the unitiated not only is MMM the Beastie Boy’s resident DJ, he was the ‘92 NMS battle champ, he was DMC World champ alongside Q-Bert in ‘92 and ‘93 before being asked not to enter because him and Q-Bert were too good, not to mention being the guy that influenced one of the most influential DJs of our generation, Q-Bert. Oh yeah, he also communicates to aliens via scratching… I saw him last time he played at Fu ’bout two years ago, dude is insane!!! Anyways, I’ll prolly be there with D-Form and Truent analysing his tweak scratch, lol.

Yo, Sirvere’s doing a marathon 7 hour DJ set tonight at Fu consisting of 14 themed half hour sets, it’s a pretty cool concept. I’m most impressed by the pizza break though, pizza in a club, brilliant.
So by now many of you would have heard that Pharoahe Monch is playing free show on the side in Auckland tonight, however the downside is that it’s invite only. I know you are all gonna hate me, but yep, I am one of those peeps with an invite, I’m simultaneously stoked and disappointed ‘cos some of my best mates who are Pharoahe fans can’t come. If it’s any consolation though, I hear he’s only playing three songs, haha.
Also my good friend Aroha had an impromptu interview with Pharoahe today which I’m gonna play on Trueschool tonight, so tune in for that.
