Drakes video sucked
… and I’m always reminded of that fact when I watch this video, being that it dropped round the same time. “Name On A Cloud” is taken from Wiz Khalifa’s Flight School mixtape and sees the skinny dude doing his thing over the “Runnin” beat. Top 10 beats ever btw, R.I.P Jay Dee, and if you’re one of those dudes who wears “Dilla saved my life” tees and you didn’t know he made this… now you do. We’re all about bettering the community round here.
Back to the vid tho – it rules for the reasons that Drakes video sucked. It features a great yet simple performance from the artist. It gives you an idea of his character and something to identify him with. And most importantly it sits well with the mood of the song. It’s also very nicely shot, quite a remarkable effort really for something that’s just a mixtape cut.
As I’ve said before, I rate this kid.

in regards to drake’s video, when i was watching it i was like “this is a second single video, possibly off the second album”. dude dropped the ball big time.

Drakes video is fucked from a branding perspective. The video for Best I Ever Had is out of synch with the perception that people had built up about him. He was the rapper that girls loved, but he made a video that was clearly aimed at dudes.

Are you gay? That video was very nice visually. Sure the concept was fucked, but its Drake, the songs shit so atleast the videos worth watching
