Yeah the NZRL is a shambolic organisation… That dude Sel Pearson who was chairman for ages just made me cringe every time I heard trying to weasel out of the latest disaster him & his board had presided over. This might be the biggest thing to ever happen to New Zealand league and it gets no press, no follow-through. It’s like you dreamed it. And so true about the viaduct, wtf are they doing down there, that hideous scene is about yachting, and rugby at a pinch. It’ll just be embarrassing, heaps of press watching those guys awkwardly stand around while all their fans are working, probably not even aware that it’s happening.

I shoulda added that having the public reception at 12 noon on a work day, that is also the day most kids go back to school & the day of the Super Bowl, at a location far from the “working class” areas synonymous with league in Auckland (Te Atatu, Otahuhu, Otara, Northcote etc) is also dumb. “Tell ‘em why you mad son!”
