“if you’re lookin for me man I’m in the ATL”
The weekend just been one was a good one for music, in that it yielded 2 great songs from 2 of the ATL’s biggest stars. The ever improving Young Jeezy continues the roll he’s on as of late (”I’m so hood remix”, “Dey know remix”, “Superstar remix”, “Love in this club”) and impresses me yet again with possibly my rap song of the year thus far. “Put On” feat Kanye West in Lollipop mode is the fucken shit, point blank period. This shit makes me want to go out and start a riot… and win. If that even makes sense ? Turn that shit up if you feel like triumphing over the odds.
Young Jeezy feat Kanye West - Put on
T.I.P on the other hand has returned with a track that on first listen reminds me of a country ballad. If country ballads were mean that is. I was a bit ehh bout the beat at first, but the shit has grown on me and the lyrics are where it’s at with this one. Heartfelt and defiant, this is some more inspiring shit. Again, turn it up if you feel like triumphing over the odds. Fo realz.
“Believe me pain’s a small thing to a giant, i was born without a dime, out the gutter i climbed, spoke my mind and didn’t stutter one time, Ali say even the greatest gotta suffer some time”

Haha I was gonna blog about the same two songs. These are the one right now. Danja and T.I is the new T.I/Toomp combo pre T.I vs T.I.P ay. Nice to see TIP pushing his angry rap voice to the side too. And I reckon Kanye is unecessary on that Jeezy joint, shoulda been another southern rapper, how about TIP? Ha.

I don’t know about that Jeezy tune…. it would have been hot if it came out a couple of years ago, but I think his sound is stale, and I agree… Kanye sounds out of place.
The new TI is cool though… shot.

Put On is mean, it’s that like as soon as you hear it shit - and while Kanye may sound weird on first listen, I reckon after a few listens it might just become your fave part of the song.
