I like dem ameries, you can have dem amorosa’s

There’s certain artists you just like straight off the bat. Sometime’s they’re not neccesarily that amazing or skilled but they’ll have some intangible quality that catches your interest. Could be something a little different in their vocal tone, a special way they drag out their words, a different sense of humour in their lyrics, or it could be the fact that they just look cooler than the rest. I guess that’s what we call X-factor.

Anyways, for me Currency (da hot spittah) is one of those artists. I first heard him with Lil Wayne on the track “Grown man” off the Carter 2. Though the track was cheese, Currency’s nonchalant flow and lazy voice caught my attention. Since then I’ve heard him here and there on various Wayne mixtapes and being that he was signed to Waynes Young Money label I assumed we would be seeing him in a similar capacity to what T.I has done with Young Dro. I like Dro for a lot of the same reasons as I like this guy so by that logic I would have thought Currency would have had some burn by now, but after this vid for “Where da cash at” - nothing.

Unfortunately it appears he was no longer seeing eye to eye with Young Money and he’s departed the label to fuck’s with pro skater/perpetual funny cunt Terry Kennedy in the group Fly Society. I don’t know if that was the best move being that Weezy just hit that #1 spot with Lollipop (*smh), but oh well - better to be with a less reknowned team and be pushed, then be with a powerhouse and never come out. No Aftermath. I been listening to a few joints off his new mixtape and I’m feeling them. Especially this shit right here, though he doesn’t have the lyrical dexterity displayed by the late Frank White on the O.G, his swag is in full effect and he has some amusing lines to say the least. Spittah.
