Kiwis vs Kangaroos May 9th

Let’s hope to see more of this on May 9th:

traitor Hunt laid out

The Kangaroos team was named on Sunday and holy fuck their backline is mean. Every player is dangerous and it’s gonna be damage control for our backs. Thankfully their forwards are average though and just a bunch of dirty cunts really (there should be at least one fight with Gallen in their side). Even though we’re AGAIN tryna scratch a team together because of injuries and UK-based players being held back by their clubs, I’m an eternal optimist when it comes to Kiwi league and I think this is the team we could cause an upset with:

Fullback: Sam Perrett (Roosters)
Wing: Jason Nightingale (Dragons)
Centre: Iosia Soliola (Roosters)
Centre: Steve Matai (Sea Eagles)
Wing: Chase Stanley (Dragons)
Five-eighth: Setaimata Sa (Roosters)
Halfback: Benji Marshall (Tigers)
Prop: Roy Asotasi (captain) (Rabbitohs)
Hooker: Nathan Fien (Warriors)
Prop: Nathan Cayless (Eels)
Secondrow: Simon Mannering (Warriors)
Secondrow: David Kidwell (Rabbitohs)
Lock: Sonny Bill Williams (Bulldogs)

Interchange:
Sam Rapira (Warriors)
Greg Eastwood (Broncos)
Frank Pritchard (Panthers)
Isaac Luke (Rabbitohs)

If you care to know my reasoning for choosing these players read on…

Benji Marshall is in the team presuming he’s deemed fit enough to play come May 9th. I know he’s a 5/8, but he can play halfback too and would be the goalkicker. If he isn’t in the Kiwis then it should be Ben Roberts. We’ve got heapsa cover in this team if there are any injuries with Perrett, Sa and Fien able to cover several positions. Even though I hate Kidwell, I think we’ve gotta have an old bastard in there and all we need him to do is tackle his ass off with Mannering and leave the linebreaks/offloads to Sonny and Pritchard. Greg Eastwood is in the team as a prop, but he can play anywhere in the forwards and also stand-off if needed.

People I didn’t name that Kearney and Bennett could conceivably go with: Jeremy Smith, Jeff Lima, Taniela Tuiaki, Luke Covell, David Fa’alogo, Shaun Kenney-Dowall, Dene Halatau.

SMH @ the aussie backs - too mean. Look for Thurston to kick our ass if he feels like it.

    Ol’ Tuiaki again, classic dude

Can’t help but thinking my homeboy Phil Leuluai would make more of an impact off the bench, pitty he’s playing in the UK these days.

Ive been watching Sa play since he was 3rd form, the best player our school ever saw I reckon, good looks on chucking him in there, he’s the future

i’d throw Kenney-Dowall on the wing and chase in centres and matai on the bench to counter act webb, i’d rather have Dene Halatau or David Fa’alogo in there instead of Kidwell, too much talk and not enough action from that BOI. there whole backline is super super quick and our fastest dude is perret i think and he aint that quick. Hopefully we have a new game play this year rather then just passing sonny the ball. if we can stay with 12-18point of them it’ll be a good effort i reckon

  6. Ripthajacka Says:

well benji’s not playing this weekend so that pretty much rules him out for the test. Looks like roberts will be in. roberts and sa vs lock and thurston not a very pretty site is it??
