Kiwis vs Kangaroos May 9th

Tuesday, April 29th, 2008

Let’s hope to see more of this on May 9th:

traitor Hunt laid out

The Kangaroos team was named on Sunday and holy fuck their backline is mean. Every player is dangerous and it’s gonna be damage control for our backs. Thankfully their forwards are average though and just a bunch of dirty cunts really (there should be at least one fight with Gallen in their side). Even though we’re AGAIN tryna scratch a team together because of injuries and UK-based players being held back by their clubs, I’m an eternal optimist when it comes to Kiwi league and I think this is the team we could cause an upset with:

Fullback: Sam Perrett (Roosters)
Wing: Jason Nightingale (Dragons)
Centre: Iosia Soliola (Roosters)
Centre: Steve Matai (Sea Eagles)
Wing: Chase Stanley (Dragons)
Five-eighth: Setaimata Sa (Roosters)
Halfback: Benji Marshall (Tigers)
Prop: Roy Asotasi (captain) (Rabbitohs)
Hooker: Nathan Fien (Warriors)
Prop: Nathan Cayless (Eels)
Secondrow: Simon Mannering (Warriors)
Secondrow: David Kidwell (Rabbitohs)
Lock: Sonny Bill Williams (Bulldogs)

Interchange:
Sam Rapira (Warriors)
Greg Eastwood (Broncos)
Frank Pritchard (Panthers)
Isaac Luke (Rabbitohs)

If you care to know my reasoning for choosing these players read on…

Dizzee Rascal Mile High

The NZ Herald upped some video footage of Dizzee performing ‘Jus A Rascal’ on the MTV Mile High flight, it’s pretty cool and features substantial footage of DJ DForm, woohoo.

GTA IV out tomorrow

Monday, April 28th, 2008

I’m one of those fanboys that preordered the GTA IV pack with the duffle bag and safety deposit box, lolza, yeah I know I’m a sucker but that shit might come in handy one day when I inevitably need to do some home invasions to survive. Anyways, IGN have given GTA IV a 10/10 review, there’s only two other games in the past 10 years that have scored a perfect score at IGN and one of them was Legend Of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, so it’s safe to say I’m pretty excted about this game, see below for the video review. I also heard that there’s a radio station on there called Classics which DJ Premier (!!!) spins on, bad ass!

Let’s hope that the edited version we’re getting in NZ doesn’t spoil the fun…

50 Cent in Auckland

Monday, April 28th, 2008

Yo, did anyone go to this gig, it felt like there was no buzz for this gig eh. Anyway 50’s got his vlogging on lock, he posted up two videos from his brief trip to Auckland on ThisIs50.com over the weekend.

DJ Sirvere on GTA IV?

Monday, April 28th, 2008

Well, not quite but I was perusing the GTA IV website the other day and one character in particular caught my attention… turns out there’s a character in the game called Phil Bell and he’s a bad muthafukka, lol. Shit, if there’s any game I’d want my name popping up in it would be THAT game but alas with a name like mine it’s never gonna happen by coincidence :(. In fact my name is so obscure that I’m pretty certain that in the entire history of the world no person has ever walked the earth with the same name as me, lol. Anyway, here’s the video just for the hell of it.

we can get the drama poppin’, we dont care

Monday, April 28th, 2008

Just got finished watching game 3 of the Boston vs Atlanta NBA playoffs series, which the ATL somehow won. Besides Josh Smith goin’ nuts and putting on his own personal 3 point shootout/dunk display, the real noteworthy part came in the dying minutes.

When the Hawks’ Al Horton hit a jumper to ice the game, he started shouting at Paul Pierce who was on the floor. Pierce got up, had the look of death on his face, walked over to the Atlanta bench and threw up the Bloods sign. I’m guessing the Celtics will come up with some excuse to cover it up, but I know P Double is from Inglewood and didn’t seem to be fuckin’ around. We all know Pierce is no stranger to drama either, as he got stabbed 11 times, supposedly by affiliates of nut-job Ray ‘Nail In The Coffin’ Benzino.

The other showdown has been LeBron James vs DeShawn Stevenson in the Cavs vs Wizards series. When the Wizards were down 20, Stevenson hit a three over James and for some reason blew his fingers to say ‘I’m hot bitches!” (S.M.H). He also said Lebron was overrated. James said him replying would be like “Jay-Z replying to Souljah Boy“, so Stevenson flew Mr. Tell Em’ out to sit courtside at game 3, which Washington won. Madness.

All thuggery aside, the First Round of the Playoffs has been interesting to say the least.

  • The Suns trading for Shaq seems to have backfired, as all O’Neal has been good at is lane violations and missing free-throws in the Phoenix vs San Antonio series. Tony Longoria is fucking unconcious, and the Suns are down 3-0.
  • The Rockets won 22 games in a row during the regular season without Yao Ming, but lost their first two home games against eternal lames the Jazz. Houston is down 3-1.
  • The Nuggets still look and play like its an And1 tour, and are about to get swept by the Lakers.
  • Somehow the 76ers are beating the Pistons. The turning point will be when Rasheed Wallace intimidates a referee by looking at him.
  • Im picking the Hornets vs Mavericks will be the only one to go to a game 7.

T.I - What you know

Some might consider this one reaching, as there’s probably cuts of this video with the explicit version of the song. But whatever, the one I’m familiar with that I’ve seen on the TV is this one right here. In fact you may as well just say I like the radio edit of the song better than the album version as what it comes down to is simple - “loaded AAY HOOOO” sounds better than “loaded fo fo”. So much better in fact that I’m willing to overlook the muting of other explicit words and profanities in the song. Word to your mum.

Aaliyah - Hot like fire

Aaliyah again, this time with a track from the Timbaland era. This was titled on the single as “Timbalands Groove Mix” apparently. All i know is it’s kick ass and the album version sucks comparatively. According to wikipedia this song was a flop in the states, I recall it doing reasonably well over here though. Regardless, props have to go to Aaliyah and Tim for killing it on the singles for this album. “One in a million”, “If your girl only knew”, “4 page letter”, and this = killer. Oh and then they dropped a lil known number called “Are you that somebody” for the Doctor Dolittle soundtrack. That combo was on bo.

p.s Shouts to my mates who would tell me Aaliyah rocked the fringe cause she had a bung eye. Too much.
