“The actor Heath Ledger was found dead this afternoon in an apartment in Manhattan owned by the actress Mary-Kate Olsen, according to the New York City police. Mr. Ledger was 28.”
WTF ? At Mary-Kate Olsen’s house even. This is sad/bizarre. I wonder if he’d completed shooting for The Dark Knight ? Regardless, R.I.P to the bro. His acting was fucken dece. See here for more.
I’m getting sick of seeing that Jigga tee everytime I load up Shot Then so I thought I’d take it upon myself to remedy that and up two new vids.First up B.G - For A Minute. The video is cool and so is the song I reckon. From what I’ve read Scott Storch produced it, but it’s hardout Mannie Fresh sounding. The track itself has been out for a few months, but to be honest I hadn’t heard it ’til the vid came out a few days ago. B.G’s rocking the long hair don’t care braids and while the video doesn’t break any new ground I’m feeling it.
The second is the infamous Big Noyd with Things Done Changed. I always like me some Big Noyd and this track is off his new album called Illustrious. The video is low budget, which means Noyd has to provide all of the entertainment himself, leading to some amusing moments of rap-hands and thug shimmying. If you get your hands on his album, check out Snitches, Ghetto and Trying To Make It Out. On to the video…
While we’re on the topic of quirky Guitar Hero mods check this shit out. The following is a demonstration of the Air Guitar Rocker by Jada Toys which turns your lame air guitar antics into authentic rock anthems, haha. I guess we should expect to see an air scratch toy soon…
Here’s another addition to the finetradition of local rappers rounding up a posse of rappers to remix their latest joint. Ethical has recruited Young Sid, Tyson Tyler and Kardinal Offishall for the Talk Of The Town Remix, which is available for free download from Eth’s MySpace for the next few days, so I suggest ya head over there. Sid rips on this joint and it’s kind of a given that Kardi tears up anything he touches too. I believe that this is from the forthcoming Coming Of Age EP, check the MTC blog for more on that.
Percieve’s street album ‘Second chances’ is available now at Real Groovey and Beatmerchants, or if you prefer the personal touch you can hit him up on bebo/myspace and he’ll send it out to you himself. Now that’s service. I was lucky enough to score a copy off him over New Years and have been giving it a good thrash in the car. Polished first effort indeed, with the ‘Fuck you’ remix featuring Flowz and PNC being my personal favourite. In fact I might see whats good with putting it up for download so that some of you who have been sleeping can check it out, shit is nice. Check out the aforementioned links to hear more.
The bro Louie Knuxx is cruising, so everyone who’s in the Auckland vicinity 2moro night should head along to Rising Sun to check him out before he leaves for Melbourne. There’s a whole bunch of quality acts on that performance list so should be good times for all. Shotthen would like to wish the best of luck to Knuxx for his future endeavours in Oz. Mean.
Since Super Mario Galaxy I’ve acquired a new reason for D. to visit me, that is Guitar Hero III. In fact our New Year night was spent thrashing out rock songs on my toy guitar haha, great fun and even the wahines got involved. My flatmate sent me this video of a turntable mod for Guitar Hero that’s pretty clever and looks a bit more fun than that lame DJ game that came out a few years ago (I think there’s still one at Yifans).
