Movies to hang out for ??
Now that American Gangster has been on the net for 88 (is it out at the movies here yet ?) I’ve been trying to find some new movies to anticipate. Ya know, being that life is just a never ending quest for entertainment and all. I was drawing a blank though, heightened by the fact Fully Flared is now out, and Heroes Season 2 is finished cause of the fucking writers strike(just pay those cunts!). Bar Naruto Shippuden(last episode was rude) I have nothing to look forward to anymore, so I went for a look round to find something to get excited about. Here’s the results:
Machine Girl:
This sounded promising. Japanese girl taking revenge on the Yakuza with a chain gun for an arm. Watched the trailer though and it was on that Kill Bill, Dusk till Dawn O.T.T type buzz. And the production quality reminds me of the Deathnote movie which I thought sucked hard. Peep.
Speed Racer:
I dont really know why I looked into this being that the Speed Racer cartoon was always wack to me. It was one of those ‘I want to like this’ deals cause of it’s pioneering nature, and when Ghostface used it for the Daytona 500 video I thought I should be on it. I still never felt it, Racer X was the man though.
It looks like they’ve kept to the real colorful cartoon look, and from what I’ve read the Wachowski brothers said they wanted to make it a family movie. This could make it end up like Fantastic 4 i.e wack. But I’m not adverse to a good movie the kids can watch (The Incredibles, Pirates etc). Trailer looks pretty zaney, but they got some decent actors in Ricci and that cunt from V for Vendetta. Fingers crossed.
Ironman:
Saw this on Sirvere’s blog actually. This trailer looks fucken choice. Downey seemed like a wierd choice for Stark as I always looked at Tony Stark being the Marvel equivalent of Bruce Wayne. The rich playboy/eligible bachelor. Downey’s swag is at 100 in this trailer though, and the film looks nice and dark. Looks like we’re also gonna see the progression of the Iron Man suits too which is dope. Keen as to see how this one pans out.
Put us all up on some upcoming movies if you know of any, we need some entertainment in this bitch. Oh yeah, Fully Flared premiere tonight @ Rising Sun for you Auckland folk.

ironman looks choice. i was like wtf? at rd.jr but it seems to work.
what happened to ‘black snake moan’. did it even hit theatres in new zealand? i was watiting for it and all of a sudden there is a poster for it in civic video. can someone let me know?

Yeah i dunno if Black Snake Moan hit the theaters. My flatmate had it downloaded ages ago, I never got round to watchin it though. Heard mixed reports bout it

Black Snake Moan came to festival… was pretty choice… Samuel L was the man.
Eastern Promises is dope if you haven’t seen it and there’s a couple of a’ight looking flicks on the way; The Kite Runner (be hard to top the book), The Bucket List (Nicholson and Freeman) - maybe a little sloppy but hopefully good watching.

I saw Katt William’s American Hustle last night that was pretty funny, he’s filled the void for me that Chappelle left. That movie you’re talking about LJM is Planet Terror, it’s by Robert Rodriguez, I got it at home if you wanna copy, it’s fucking mean.
