Roc boys in the buildin
Damn. Hot on the heels of American Gangster we got new albums from Free AND Beanie(Oh and dont forget this Memph Bleek vid that sounds like Rubberband Man). Shit’s almost feeling like the early 2000’s. Now all we need is for the Dips to get their swag back, Peedi Peedi to get a full length, and Oschino and Sparks to spit more flame(”I think we was dancin to.. uhhhh… Fiesta remix”).
Aint fully digested this Free album yet, but I like that he’s kept with the sample-heavy style he’s had in the past as opposed to pulling a Fat Joe. Funnily enough our own Slick Van XL has had two songs with samples the same as Free has used on this. Great minds and all that. One of the songs im feelin is this one right here which uses the same sample as PNC’s Love Letter Interlude. Check it out.

You guys heard that “Gutted” by Beanie ft Jay?
Jay says “Green screens of the projects, you safe in ‘em” is this a swipe at the ‘I’m So Hood Remix’ video? Or am I reaching?

haha i thought the exact same thing when I heard it. DJ Khaled might yell at him about it. That “Gutted” song is cool, its kiwi as “ya gutted!”.
Also have you’s heard that Jada ‘welcome to the roc” freestyle? Hes rapping mean again. R-O-C, stop!

Heh, the first thing i thought when i heard that line was the Nas and Game ‘Hustlers’ video. I can see the ‘Nas Lost’ threads already.
‘Gutted’ is the inspiration for 2moros post. Jada’s in his element on that freestyle ay, throwin chinchillas in the fire like Frank.

I’m loving this ROC resurgence. Wonder how Damon feels about it? I watched that Backstage DVD the other week and it was like watching a bunch of mates you haven’t seen for ages.
