Verse(s) of the year
I know it’s a bit premature being mid November, but I think now that A.G has dropped and barring a last minute bid from Saigon we can probably close out bets for verse of the year. I’m actually more keen to see what you guy’s reckon, here’s my picks.
Andre 3000 – on Devin the dude’s ‘What a job’
This verse has got it all, poignant lyrics, cool patterns, melody.. everything.. 3000 can be the best rapper in the world when he feels like it. He obviously did that day. Honorable mention goes to his ‘International players anthem’ verse too.
Ludacris – on DJ Khaled’s ‘Im so hood remix’ (Video)
Killed everyone, despite good showings from Jeezy, Busta and Big Boi. ‘Best rapper alive’ Lil Wayne got his ass kicked on this. When he’s on, Luda has the BEST flow and patterns in the game when it comes to lower tempo shit(see Ciara – Oh) . On a sidenote, can Khaled shut the fuck up.

I’d choose ITL Players Anthem over What A Job. Personally.
And Lil Wayne is showing signs of possibly maybe falling off. Too much, too soon?
I nominate Freeway on Paper Gangstas. There’s another verse but I can’t remember it right now.
That I’m So Hood Video is hot garbage. Some how Khaled manages to be irritating visually too. Crazy.

International Players Anthem is my pick. Don’t know about the kilt in the video but the whole song is just against the grain of all the trends and fads of this year. Just wish Outkast could go back to being ATLiens
