Reading back over the shotthen.com archives over the last few weeks, it could be mistaken by the more cynical folk that we were starting a Kanye fan-club. Of course this could never be the case after Kanye’s verse on ‘The Bounce’.(”magazines call me ROCKSTAR, girls call me COCKSTAR”) It would be a lie however, to say we arent ALL hanging out for it to leak… or Sept 11th right? Whichever comes first :P Here’s some shit to tide you folk over if you havent already heard it.

Sounds like Bow Wow has decided to re-invent himself as Lil Wayne, even releasing freestyles over Weezy F’s songs. Lyrically its probably his best stuff ever, but the biting is outta control.

Wet pussy!

Wet pussy!

So I was watching Cambo Live last night and LOLed pretty hard when I saw this story - some old fart in Christchurch who has taken it upon himself to trap and drown domestic cats because they pose a threat to native birds. He has a point about the cats killing birds for fun but I think he’s handling the situation totally wrong and inviting a lot of trouble by bragging about it on TV… not to mention that he is a complete moron. The video is here it’s about six minutes long but there’s a few quotables in there if you are interested.

I dunno why, but I was thinking about a couple of songs from my high school days (’95 - ‘99) by artists that never popped off and for various reasons crack me up. In some cases it’s cos the songs suck, in other cases it’s cos they bring back funny memories, but whatever the reason I felt like reminiscing. So after some YouTubing I found a few to share here at Shot Then. To start things off, my most hated song of that period:

Papa Bear - Cherish

fully seek NFL hit

Monday, August 27th, 2007

Watch Sav Rocca, a former Australian AFL player who’s just started out in the NFL, get sassed up by a mean shot from Antwan Barnes. Admittedly it’s a cheap shot AND he got up from it, but holly shit.

Sidebar: If anyone knows how to rip the vids from the NRL website, holla.

I dunno if you’ve already read about it, but Madonna is currently working on her new album and it sounds like it could be good. She has Timbaland, Justin Timberlake, Pharrell and Swizz Beats contributing production so my interest has already been sparked. Here’s one of the new joints, produced by Pharrell. What y’all think?

Florida like the place and Florida like Flow-rider… clever

Wednesday, August 22nd, 2007

I was intendin to post about this guy Flo-rida and his song ‘Birthday’ before I got sidetracked last week. I got put onto him from this piece the smoking section did about him. Downloaded his mixtape and was pleasantly surprised. My immediate comparisons were he sounded like a cross between Chamillionaire and Field Mob. To be honest I’ve been on my ’stuck on 1 song’ buzz when listening to his mixtape, that song being ‘Birthday’ . But fuck it, its mean. Here’s the video for the remix feat Ricky Ross and Brisco. Personally I like the O.G better but its all good.
