Alex da kid
I used to hate dumb cunts at school that called Alex Kidd, Alex da kid. You may not have had them at your school but I had plenty of them at mine. These would be the same kids who said Guile did ‘Tonic boom’ on Street Fighter and that you could pick up the rock and throw it on Chun Li’s stage.*SMH
Anyways, my flatmate found THIS SITE after we had a discussion about the N.E.S and Sega master system. I’ve read somewhere that at that point Nintendo had something like 80 - 90% of the console market in the world and when I went to the U.S as a child it reinforced that theory. Nintendo was fucking everywhere. Contrast that to home though, and you were hard pressed to find kids who had even played a Nintendo let alone owned one. Sega RAN shit in our little country and continued to do so up until Playstation came along and fucked the game up. Alex Kidd in Miracle world was a gem of a game that came built into the Sega master system 2. Looking at it today I realise its basically an inferior bite of Super Mario Brothers, but at least for most NZ 80’s babies - Alex Kidd is THE platform game. The jump off. If you’ve lived in the shame of never clocking it here’s your chance ..

Whoa, this is a blast from the past!
It was Super Nintendo that killed Sega for me, their ports of SF2 and Mortal Kombat were light years ahead of Sega wack attempts.

Sega Megadrive - best console of all time despite being technically inferior to Super NES. Megadrive Streetfigher 2 special champion edition > super nintendo street fighter 2

Anyone remember Sega’s Mega-CD or 32x? haha i feel sorry for those ppl out there that invested in that shit. I can imagine a 40 year old guy sitting in his mum’s basement with a shitload of Mega-CDs, laser discs and betamax tapes wondering where he went wrong.
