New Zealand weather getting you down? Well watch this movie and it’ll have you outside embracing the Aotearoa raindrops like DJ Khaled in a Fat Joe clip. Michael Moore’s fourth feature length documentary, Sicko, will make anybody living outside the US jump for joy that they dont have to deal with the American health system. The film shows a country where choking babies are kicked out of hospitals, women are told brain tumours are not life threatening, and that a sliced finger tip will set you back more than your average student loan. Moore uses his signature sarcastic humour to pick a part the corrupt big business industry that is medical welfare in the United States, with the political right of past and present feeling most of the damage. The level of ridiculous injustice reaches its climax when he takes 9/11 volunteers (ailing from illness caused by working at the twin towers crash) to the only place on US soil that seems to have free health care… Guantanamo Bay!. Bowling For Columbine is still my favourite, but this is a must see also. Yesssss!
