NB:Thought I’d start posting a classic verse on a weekly basis…. just for the fuckin hell of it!!!

Nowadays Cee-Lo Green is mostly known for singing about being crazy and dressing like Darth Vader on stage (not that thats not cool, Im glad he finally got his crossover props). But back in the day he was just another Dungeon Family member from the ATL who could outshine Andre Benjamin on songs. Heres his most classic verse, about the common man’s struggle.

Two major releases in less than a week, first David Bain, and today P-Money’s ironically titled “Unreleased Joints & Remixes” album – I’m only concerned with music though, so laters to Mr. Bain. It could be argued however that if David Bain was to pursue a rap career he’d have about ten times the street credibility of 50 Cent.

Back on point though, P-Money is one of Australasia’s most prolific and diverse producers and his new album demonstrates that with a hot mix of instrumentals and rap songs featuring local and international guests as well as a remix of Dave Dobbyn’s kiwi classic “You Oughta Be In Love”. Admittedly I wasn’t exactly moved by the first two promo joints but I have had a sneak peak at the entire album and he delivers the goods. My personal fave is “It’s Over” featuring PNC. Instores now, cop it…

Camp Lo - Luchini

Thanks to a great article over @ smokingsection.net about Camp Lo and the album ‘Uptown Saturday Night’ I got to take a trip down memory lane. I recall waiting up till like 12 or whatever ridiculous hour it was that they showed Yo! MTV raps on the wack U.K MTV feed that we got in NZ back in the 90′s. Ya know, back when TVNZ pulled out MTV UK to kill Max TV in Auckland, then took MTV off air after Max went out of business. Cunts.

Anyways I remember this and the Black Nostaljack video coming on screen on Yo! and kicking my ass. Camp Lo had so much stee, and I couldnt understand in my young brain how such a cool group was so under the radar and stuff like ummm L.A.D – ‘Ridin Low’ was toppin charts. Of course it all makes sense to me now… L.A.D was the shit,  right? (I wonder if that song topped the charts anywhere other than NZ? lol) Anyways salute to them for being ahead of their time by doing exactly the opposite and repping an era gone by. I can’t get Rihanna’s new single out of my head nor can I get that video off my mind. Can you blame me though? The song is hot and the video is so pleasant on the eyes – Rihanna is beautiful and the visual effects are amazing. Let’s be real though, as shallow as it is, it’s all about staring at Rihanna’s ass.
